Mastercraft Collection Lockheed P-3C Orion (Hi-Vis) Model Scale:1/85
What made the Lockheed P-3 Orion unique among other U.S. Navy aircraft was its MAD Boom—the unique tail stinger that magnetically detects submarines. The first production version of this maritime surveillance aircraft with four turboprop engines was introduced in April 15, 1961. Over the years, it saw numerous design upgrades, especially to its electronic packages. In 1969, Lockheed came up with the definitive version of the P-3—the P-3C Orion, which was equipped with modern APS-115 radar system. This model was involved in several operations, including the Operation Iraqi Freedom, Desert Storm, and Operation Desert Shield. This aircraft served the Royal Australian Air Force, German Navy, Republic of China Navy, and Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force. Despite this huge number of military and civilian operators, the US Navy remains to be the largest operator of the P3C Orion.

"Madman II" by Don Feight - Lockheed P-3 Orion - Open Edition - Aviation Art
Plane Type: Lockheed P-3 Orion The Lockheed P-3 Orion is a four-engine turboprop, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), long endurance, land-based maritime surveillance aircraft, developed for the United States Navy and was first operational for the United States Navy in 1962. The P-3C first entered service in 1969 and has been continuously upgraded and updated with new avionics systems and mission equipment. The aircraft is flown by a crew of ten on missions up to 14 hours long and can carry various weapons in the bomb bay and on ten underwing pylons. A total of 734 P-3s were built between 1960-1990 with about 435 aircraft still operating worldwide by 21 governments and agencies in 17 countries. In 2012 it joined the handful of military aircraft that included the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker and Lockheed C-130 Hercules that have served 50 years of continuous use by the United States military. The U.S. Navy's fleet of P-3C aircraft will continue to fly for the next decade and will gradually be replaced by the new P-8A Poseidon, a Boeing 737 variant, that began entering service in 2012. This colorful print represents the most recent version of the Lockheed P-3C Orion painted in the latest gloss gray scheme with original full-size color markings. It has been named...

DeAgostini Lockheed P-3 (P-3C) Orion - Japan 1/250 Scale Model
1:250 Scale - Lockheed P-3 Anti-submarine and Maritime Patrol Plane - Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force - Length: 5.75" Wingspan: 5" This Orion model is made of a combination of metal and plastic parts. The landing gear is fixed in the extended position and there is no stand included. There is a small transparent plastic plate that displays the model's type, however this is all in Japanese. This is a Japanese import so all the labeling and branding are in Japanese. The maker of the model, DeAgostini, really did a good job with the model, the panel lines and details are very crisp and one can see the little dots that represent the rivets holding down the panels. The model comes encased in plastic shells. This is really a "no-play" model or a "display-only" model. It also has a number of antennas which look great but are very fragile. The box is labeled as not suitable for children under 14. The package measures 6.5" x 7" x 2"

Liberty Esso Lockheed Orion Bank - Die Cast Metal - Dated 1994
An outgrowth of the Vega, the Lockheed Orion was a low-wing monoplane made primarily of stressed-plywood construction. Utilizing the low-wing to house its retractable landing gear, the Orion boasted a drag coefficient 25% lower than that of the Vega. It's top speed of 225 mph made it one of the fastest production planes in 1931. Outfitted with supercharged Wasp engines that added the extra 100 hp for more speed and better performance, these planes could be quickly adapted for all-cargo loads or a variation of up to six passengers on short hauls. Eventually, the Orion was built with the new "de-icer boots" to prevent ice formation on the wing's leading edge. It was the ill-fated Orion Explorer, with a combination of unrelated Lockheed parts, that crashed on take-off in Alaska killing the famous Wiley Post and Will Rogers. This Liberty Classics by Spec Cast replica is an accurate reproduction of the original airplane. Made of durable die cast metal with a baked enamel paint finish and authentic graphics, we're sure you will enjoy this true collector item for years to come.

"Patrol Squadron Nine" - Don Feight - P-3 Orion, P-2 Neptune & PB4Y-2 Naval Aviation Art (Limited Edition)
50 years in Maritime Patrol Excellence is the subtitle of this print. A commissioned painting for VP-9 in Hawaii, this print depicts the progression of aircraft flown by Patrol Squadron Nine and many other Naval ASW squadrons in their history. In the foreground is the Lockheed P-3 Orion used by the U.S. Navy since 1962. In the middle distance is a Lockheed P2V-7 Neptune used from 1945 to 1978 and a Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer that was flown from WWII until the 1960s is in the far background. A Limited Edition print is restricted to a certain number. For example, if 400 prints are made from an original painting, once they're gone, that's it. There is no limit to the number of open edition prints of a particular painting. That's why Limited Edition prints are more expensive - and more valuable to collectors - than "open" edition. Rare objects are more valuable. All artwork is subject to availability at time of order. Although seller strives to remain current as to inventory, seller reserves the right to cancel a sale if item is no longer available at time of purchase.
